As mentioned earlier (in “Controls Working” Section), it is important that all identified controls within the organization's systems are regularly tested, either by Internal Audit or by the Business Unit, or by both; in addition, specific controls relating to compliance issues may be tested by the Compliance Department. This regular testing is done according to a Testing Schedule set up in the system (described later in the “Compliance Tests” Section); the following graph shows which tests have been done and which are delinquent.
If you position the cursor over a particular bar, the system displays the number of items in the relevant category;
If you want a printed report of compliance tests that are overdue for example, simply position the cursor on the bar and double click:
This report will show you:
•The control number and the Business Unit concerned;
•The subject matter of the control;
•Whether the control is an important, “key” control or not;
•What type of control it is;
•The date the test was actually conducted, if indeed it has been;
•The result of the test (see later in “Compliance Test” Section; re: Always, Mostly, Sometimes or Never);
•The date the control should have been tested, and
•Number of days delay in testing.
