After the user has defined the regulatory levels, he/she can move to the next option in the menu, which is the “Hierarchy”. The regulations hierarchy represents the order in which a particular piece of legislation is set out; for example, there may be several sections, each one is broken down into articles and these, in turn, are sub-divided into clauses. The system has 5 levels in the hierarchy. The name of your organization will appear on the top of the hierarchy. If you have more than one regulatory body, you set them up by adding the name of each regulatory body at the top level of the hierarchy. The following screen shows part of CMA (Capital Market Authority) regulations hierarchy:
The user can add new regulations or modify the existing ones. To add a record on the same level, click on the icon (on the left-hand side of the purple toolbar), this will open the following window:
In the above screen shot; the user is adding a new regulation. He/she will need to type the title of the regulation in the “subject” field and the description in the “description” field. Click on icon in the top left corner of the right-hand pane to save the record. To add a sub-level, click on
icon and then proceed in the same manner. If you want to edit an entry, highlight the entry in the hierarchy and then click on
at the top left of the right-hand pane. In order to add the details bilingually, in Arabic and English, click on
and the following screen will appear:
If the default language in the system is English, the function will allow you to fill the corresponding terms in Arabic.
Note: the “Edit” function does not allow the user to change an item’s position in the hierarchy; it only allows him/her to change the subject and the description of the selected item.
You will notice that the levels within the hierarchy are colour coded. Red indicates Regulatory body, orange indicates Regulation, blue indicates Chapter, maroon indicates Sections, black indicates Article.
If you wish to collapse the hierarchy, you can do this by clicking on the icon in the middle pane. You can also expand the hierarchy by clicking on the
icon.
